. >>> we told you yesterday here at 5:00 how the fbi is taking over the search of remains of victims of the speed killers. and today ken pritchett is live with why the fbi may be taking over that case. >> reporter: early last year shermantine threw out this map and pointed at this area. where the fbi is digging right now is not in that exact same location but they say it may not matter. it was not expected that the fbi would find anything today it could take weeks to hit bottom. it is unclear if there are any remains in this well. the victims of death row inmate wesley shermantine and the now deceased herzog. >> this is where wesley told us in march of last year where to dig. >> reporter: leonard padilla and ron dick have been in contact with shermantine who provided them this map. >> as far as places to dig in that area, there's probably 20 to 30 wells and i bet you you can find a body down in any well. >> reporter: police believe shermantine and herzog killed dozens of people in the 90s. two women were identified. that well was about a half a mile west on flood road of the new well
